Lately, I am seeing more folks taking their dogs out for Halloween trick or treats. Below are some great DIY ideas you can do in advance for your four-legged trick or treaters this holiday season.
#1: Round up your favorite dog treat and put into a decorated treat bag or snack size clear baggie to give to the dog owner for later. Make sure it’s marked for the pet.
This is a fun project you can do if you have kids as they can help!
#2: Peanut butter bone treats (VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE!) courtesy (urbanchef-la)
6 ingredients, most of which you will have in your pantry.
1/2 cup old fashion oats. I prefer gluten free oats
2 cups coconut flour or almond flour (you can use any kind of whole wheat flour if your pup is not allergic to gluten)
1 TBS baking powder
1 cup vegetable broth
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 TBS honey for a little sweetness
Preheat oven to 350
Lightly grease cookie sheet with coconut oil spray
Combine all of the ingredients (dry first, then add wet) and form a ball
Lightly flour surface, and knead ball for about a minute.
Using a rolling pin, roll out until about 1/2″ thick.
Use a bone cookie cutter (or any other Halloween shape) to cut out shapes.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Store in an airtight container for about a 1 week. You can also freeze extras!
